can this app be used on a laptop?
The app is for iPhone and Android phone devices. You can email the finished logs to a laptop in an HTML format so that they can be edited and sent on to the agents and adjusters.
I purchaced the apt and no log open just customer and insurance info
You need to fill in this information to start a drying log. Then you can start using the log itself. Check out the "i" info page in the app, for more directions.
thanks!
Ben
Do you have a tutorial for this app that I can show on a PC to a group of people?
I don't at the moment, but I am willing to do this for you.
Please email me some details on the kind of format that would work best for your demo.

I love the app. When are you gong to put in a spot to record the DEHU output? And when im typing al long note the message the screen does not rotate upwards so i can see what im typing. And lastly how do i attach photos to my log? I have an iphone FYI., Thanks Joel Wilkerson
Thank you Joel! Glad you like the app overall.
Regarding Dehu output. This along with some other features are in the works. Keep the feedback coming and watch also for our drying equipment tracker app.
Regarding the notes not scrolling, this is strange as I don't get the same error on my iphone 4 running iOS6. What model do you have and what operating system version do you have.
To add photos to a log. First record you drying check, then after you touch the Done button, then open the log back up and you will see a Picture looking icon on the bottom tool bar, touch this and then in the next screen you ca see thumbnails of previous photos in the (if you are reviewing your checks on the device. You can also remove any pictures you have taken from that drycheck.
Now if you have not taken any pictures yet, you need to touch the Camera icon in the bottom left corner and this will open the camera device.
In the full version, all of the pictures for each drycheck will attach them selves to the HTML report that you email out from the app. You can email this report to your desktop or laptop and then you can make any edits, caption photos, delete information or add information, then you can send the report along or copy and past all of the info into a word document and add your logo etc.
Keep me posted on how you make out. Maybe before using it too much, try removing the app from your device and then re-install it. If you paid for the full version, not to worry, iTunes knows this and doesn't charge you a second time. This may correct the problem with the notes scrolling.
Thanks for your time,
Ben Duckworth

I love the app , but when I take pictures it seems I can only take up to 3 for the whole project. Can you not take pics on each room you create or are the pics for the whole project and limited to 3.
Hi there!
My apologies in not getting back to you sooner.
Cold you tell me what device you are using and what operating system it is running?
You should be able to add a number of pictures for each area and each dry check.
I would like to get more details though to see if we can help you through this problem. I am not able to duplicate this bug on either an android device or an iPhone, but if I know the details I might be able to trouble shoot why you are having trouble with this.
Feel free to email me direct at ben@waterdamagedryinglog.com
Thank you for your time,
Ben Duckworth
Why can't I load photos as promised????
Hi there!
can you tell me some more specifics please?
What device and operating system are you using?
Are you able to not capture photos but not export them in the HTML report in the full version of the app?
If you are having trouble capturing photos, you need to be sure to touch the Done button first when entering a dry check, then open the dry check and you will see a small photo icon in the bottom tab bar of the app if you are an iphone user. touch the photo icon and then the camera icon to open the devices camera.
For android users, when you are entering the drying log, push your devices "Menu" button (usually the bottom right of the three or four main built in device buttons and you will see the camera touch button in the bottom center of the device screen to open the devices camera.
If it still won't work for you. Please email me some additional information so that I can assess this if it is a bug. The app has been pretty stable so let me know if we need to trouble shoot.
I can give you some ways to export bug logs to us to pin point an issue quicker.

We are new to this dry log biz stuff. What is the meaning of the the Field: Dry Std. % ???????
Hi there and thank you for your question.
Dry Standard is the target Percent Moisture Content of the material you are drying. Typically this standard is set by taking Percent Moisture Readings in an unaffected area of the same structure. This sets the bench mark as to when the material you are drying is actually dry to a dry standard for that structure.
The dry standard for wood will be different in a dry climate compared to a humid climate. This data shows that you have dried the material properly to the Dry Standard to help protect you from liability as well as to jsutify the equipment rental charges you are billing for.
I hope this helps and please let me know if you need any more information!

I can't seem to find where to add photos in upgraded version on iPhone
Hi there!
My apologies in not getting back to you sooner. It has been a long weekend here in Canada.
So to add a picture to your drying check you will at all Dry Log information and touch Done. This will take you back to the room view. Touch the Dry Log you just entered and then touch the "Picture" icon in the center of the bottom tool bar. This will open a screen that will hold the pictures (thumbnails) Next touch the picture icon in the bottom left of the tool bar and take your pictures with the device camera.
These pictures will attach themselves to your HTML report that is pulled into an email. You can delete the pictures before you export the report by touching a thumb nail and then the "X" icon in the bottom left of the picture field.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. We are working on a shorter process for release 3 of WDDL. The reason it is set up like it is now is so that the software has a DryLog to attach the pictures to when they are taken. We are working on a system so that it doesn't matter and that the place holder for the pictures is just part of the Dry Log.
Thanks for your time,

On a project and I have more than 1 room. Ex. Family room and Storage Room, when I choose Family room it brings up storage room and vice versa. Why does it do this. I have an Iphone. when I email the report the report is correct.
Hi there, thank you for pointing this out. We are not sure why this has happened as it didn't occur during testing. The fix is on the way and will be available in the next few days.
Thank you for your patience and pointing this out to us!!
Your feedback is so important to us. We are trying hard to make a product that helps the insurance restoration industry out.
Feel free to contact me direct at ben@waterdamagedryinglog.com any time.

I am unable to e-mail my dry lg...........I was able to do it a few times in practice......what could be the problem,am I missing something?
Thank you..........Mike Hogan
Hi Mike,
thank you for your question.
Please let me know what type of device you are using, and the system software version.
Next, if you could let me know the sequence of what you are doing to try and send the email.
What email client are you using? Gmail, Yahoo mail, or a regular POP3 type of email from your companies domain name?
We have had no other reports of this being a problem, other than a user that did not have the full version.
Contact me with some more details and we will get this figured out.
Thanks for your time,

how do i email
Hi there.
In order to email the reports you need to make sure you have the full version of the App. For either iPhone or Android Water Damage Drying Log, first open the project that you want to email out.
Next if you are an iPhone user click the small envelope icon on the bottom of the phone screen, second in from the right and this will open your devices email program and a new email with the HTML Report attached. You can update the "To" field, the "CC" field or the "BCC" Field. Then you can also change the subject and add text to the email body below the subject.
You may also touch any of the field in the HTML report itself in the body of the email to make any final corrections before sending the email to your intended recipients.
If you are an Android user, once you have opened the project, touch the device "Menu" key and select the "Email" button in the bottom right corner of the screen. With Android the report is an attachment so if you want to edit the report, email it to yourself first if you like, make the necessary edits and then forward the report on to other recipients.
You can still edit the email subject and body of the email in Android and you can delete photos that have attached as well.
Please contact me anytime if you have any more questions.

I press the DL symbol on my iphone, the app comes up for less than a second then shuts down???
Hi there. This is very very strange! Could you tell me what version of iOS your iPhone is running? Could you tell me if it is the Lite or the Full version? Have you upgraded from version 1.1 to 2.0?
While you answer these questions one suggestion to try would be to remove the app, remove it from your iTunes software and then re-install it from the app store on your phone. It won't charge you again if you got the paid full version.
To take the app of your iPhone, press the DL icon, don't tape it and hold it down until it starts to "jiggle". When it starts to jiggle, tap the "X" that shows on the DL icon and it will give you a pop up message asking if you are sure you want to delete the app. Tap yes that you are ok to proceed and delete it. Then go to your App Store app on your iPhone and go into Purchased and Not On This Device and find the WDDL App and reinstall it.
Please keep me posted as this shouldn't be happening.
You can email me direct at Ben@waterdamagedryinglog.com
Thanks for your time!
Does your app allow the Technician to track additional information other than percentage of moisture content? Grains of moisture, temperature and humidity in both the drying area as well as output from your LGR Dehu's, etc? This is all information that we track and that Insurance companies want us to track as well.
Hi there. Thank you very much for your question. We have a "Notes" Field for every individual Room / Area Dry Check. What users are doing is logging any additional data in this field that we have not already covered in the main Drying Log Fields. Then when the report is emailed out in the Full Version, all of this information is included in the final report for the insurance company or adjuster. We will look at adding these specific fields in the next update though. We really appreciate your feedback and questions so that we can make this app even better and more useful to the restoration companies that use it.
I downloaded the update and now the app will not open I have shut the phone down and turned back on still nothing
Hi there, I wondered if you could tell me what version of the app you are using? This will help me to determine if it is a crash or not. Could you also please try to un install and reinstall the app? Make sure all versions are take off the device and re-install. This of course is not the intended way to have the app install but strange things do happen occasionally. Setting or apps open in the back ground, or some oddity in the data of the old version may have caused it. My apologies! We are trying hard to make the app run smooth and to improve it's usefulness each time we release a new version.
Please let me know the version of the app (lite or full and confirm it is iPhone) Also did you upgrade from Lite version 1 to the full version 2? It shouldn't matter, but I'm just curios.
Thanks for your help.

IS there a way to share the drying data between users? if a different crew attends? Is it possible to have a website to enter the data my admin at the office and tell the tech just to open this app and receive a new claim
At this point there is not a way to share the data of a partially completed project. We are looking at this for the next version though. A work around is to have both techs monitor the drying, email their drying logs to the office from the app and then in the proof reading process of checking the finished drying logs for accuracy, copy and past the logs from the emailed html reports into one complete log before sending the log onto where it needs to go.
We recommend a that every drying log report be emailed to the office before sending it to the adjuster just to double check for mistakes in the technicians entries and ensure it all makes sense. This is just an extra step to creating the complete log. The cloud idea of having data that multiple users is great, but does add a new dimension to app creation. We are hoping to get continued support so that we can keep improving the app. Posative feedback in the app store reallyhelps with this.
If you need any help, please don't hesitate to contact me.

How can we attach photos already taken instead of just taking ones?
Hi there,
at this point there is not a way to add additonal pictures to a drying log from the camera roll. That being said, you can add pictures to the HTML report that is emailed from the app.
What we suggest is that each report be emailed to the office for a final review and to ensure there are no user errors in the data collected, then before the finished report is sent on to the adjuster or wherever it needs to go, that the additional pictures be inserted into the report.
Keep in mind that an HTML report can also be copied and pasted into a word or pages document to make it look even nicer before you send it on. The intent with the app is to be able to quickly and easily record the data in the feild and then to be able to export the data in an easy fashion. We are currently looking at a sever or cloud type of app, where the drying job information can be synced to a cloud storage and then another company user could access the drying job information. This way the client can have one technician start the job, another tech can do some dry-checks and another one could finish the job up, but each has access to the drying logs so that they all can contribute to the finished drying logs. I'm working on some how to videos to show users some tips on using the app to its full advantage. We have submitted to apple for version 2.0 but are still awaiting approval.
Thanks and have a great day!

How do you add photos to the job?
Hi there!
Please let me know if you are using iPhone or Android and I can get very specific. Both of them add photos from the dry check entry level.
Thanks for your time and feel free to email me back so I can help you quicker!
Ben Duckworth ben@waterdamagedryinglog.com
I can input data into the drying log. Can you explain or point me in the direction of how to add in photos. I must be missing something. The report looks good and .htm is nice small and fast. Good looking app so far. I have about 1000 things I would love to add, but when you get to them
Hi Bill,
so once you have saved an actual Dry Log for a Room / Area, then push the menu button for your Android Device and this will bring up the touch screen menu buttons and you will see the Photos, Photo and Delete icons. The Photo (little camera icon) will open up the camera and you can take the picture. Then it will go back to the Dry Log Screen. Push the Menu button again and then touch the Photos button to see the Thumb Nails of that Dry Log's pictures. You can select a photo view it in a larger size and then you can Push the Menu button to bring up the Delete touch button at the bottom of the screen if you want to delete the photo completely from the Drying Log. Version 2.0 will work in the same fashion.
Can you increase the number ofmoisture point from 2 to 15. We deal with alot of complex jobs that require lots of test locations. When running the report you could have the readings run left to right to save space. Great program
Rod Edel
Version 2 has the ability to have four readings per check per area, plus a notes field for each drying check. The user will only need to enter the Room / Area once at the beginning of the drying job, as well as the material being monitored and the dry standard. Then they will enter the dry check and take the temperature, humidity and moisture checks. On the next dry check they can open the Room Area and just add the new date / time stamp for the check and then the new Temperature, Humidity and Moisture checks. You could use the Notes section to give details of drying equipment set up in the Room / Area and then on a future check if equipment is removed it can be noted in that Dry Check's Notes Field. You could also use the Notes Field for now to add additional moisture readings until we get this perfected.
We are looking at a way for version 3 to make it so the user can add as many moisture readings as they want. Some may only require a few depending on the loss and the area being check and others may require ten or twenty or more.
I really did plan to have Version 2.0 released by now. We added a couple small items at the last minute and tweaked a few items for the drying logs. We are so close now. I can't wait for everyone to see it and try it.
We have plans for some other apps to help the neglected restoration industry for later this year. Our whole goal is to produce apps that save everyone time, help them market the abilities of their companies and in turn make them more money!
We have installed your App on several Iphones in the field and have tried to use them as directed. We have had issues on each job!! Photos have been all over the place. projects info has been just as bad. Is their a fix for the photo issues where if we have 3 projects with photos from each all of the photos from each project are captured in each of the projects. Can someone give me a call to discuss?? We like the App if you can get it to do what you say if can do on every job!!Best way to reach me is on my cell 301-356-5888

Water Damage Drying Log App
I have a h t c thunderbolt and I'm running android 2.3 .4 , I do not have the capability of adding a photo with the paid version.
Hi there,
thank you for your question! One thing to check is that you have saved the Room / Area and Dry Log before you try and take a picture, or are able to bring the menu up to show the Camera Icon button to take a picture. I know this is a bit cumbersome, but it has to do with the way the coding works with android SDK.
Once you have the Dry Log saved, then you can go back into the Dry Log, press the menu button on your phone and you will see the camera icon to touch to open the devices camera and take a picture. After you take a picture, touch the menu button again and then the camera icon button to take another picture for that Room / Area and Dry Log.
If this does not work please let me know right away. We will help you work out the solution if it still won't work for you.

Water Damage Drying Log App - WDDL
What is the difference between the Lite Version and the Full Version of the Water Damage Drying Log App?
The Lite version has the same functionality as the Full version with two exceptions. The user can only have four projects or drying jobs at anyone time in the Lite Version and the Lite Version is not able to export the Drying Log Report.
I bought this app.
I wish you can add a space for GPP%.
What does dry STD mean?
Hi there! Thank you for your question and feedback. We are looking at adding a GPP calculator feature right now. We will also be releasing version 2.0 that has some much improved features and fields, but the GPP calculator will be a future update. Dry STD is Dry Standard, this is your drying goal. What is your drying goal to determine the wet material is dry. Take this standard from a dry area of the effected property if possible or from your historical data for your area.
Please let me know if you have any questions and stay tuned for future updates to the app.
We really appreciate your feedback and questions!

Do you plan on providing a version for Playbook?
Hi there and thank you for your question! There are no immediate plans for a Black Berry version of the app at this time. That being said, there is not currently an iPad or Android tablet version, although the app will work on these devices. We have been talking about making an iPad and Android tablet version that better utilizes the screen real-estate. I will take a look and see what is involved to make a Playbook version though.
Thanks again for your question!

DO you have PC version ?
We do not at this time. Only iPhone and Android is supported. We would consider a PC version if there was enough demand, or we could consider making a custom app for a company. Let me know if you are interested in a quote to have custom software produced for your company.
Occasional app crash.
Adding a picture does not allow you to add a picture already taken, only take new
The cancel button after launching the camera does not actually work you are forced to take a picture to get out of it
Our log sheets require we record actual humidity too, along with rh. You only have a field for rh.
Suggestion would be to have the settings panel have the ability to toggle fields on or off or add fields
Hi there, please tell me a bit more so that we might be able to help you with the crash. What make and model is your device? What version of system software does it run.
Then if you could give me a step 1, step 2 of what you touch to lead up to the crash.
We are currently testing version 2.0 and it has some very cool additional features and fields. We are also putting together ideas for the next version already which we are planning on a GPP calculator option which will record specific humidity. Your feedback is very valuable so please keep sending it so that we can try and incorporate features that will help users and make the app even better.

Hi there. Thanks for your question. What I need to know is what type of device this is, make and model and what version of system software it is currently running.
Next, make sure that you have entered the customer info and saved it because the app won't allow you to add a drying log untiil this step is complete.

If I send the report to my office, can they edit the report before it is sent out to the client or the adjuster.
The report is emailed as an HTML document / file. The office could open or view the report and then copy and past it into a text document like Microsoft word. Then your company letterhead could be added along with company contacts etc. The photos that are included with the app can be attached to the report your office has generated in a text document, or copied and pasted directly into the text document if you want to get very detailed and really use the report as a marketing feature of your company. A picture is worth a ......
Can I import the Drying Log directly from iPhone or Android phone into my computer with the Full Version of the Water Damage Drying Log?
No, you simply need to email the report to yourself, or any one you choose. If you are concerned about use of your data plan because you are not on an unlimited data plan, simply make sure your devise is connected to wi-fi before sending the report through your devises email.Once you receive the HTML report, you can copy and paste the entire report in to a word or text document and save it there. Then you can edit the report if you want before sending it on the adjuster, agent or client.
In the full version, what format is the report in that the Water Damage Drying Log exported in?
The report is emailed directly from the App in an HTML format. The pictures from the drying log are automatically attached to the HTML report email. With the iPhone version, the recipient will see the report and the photos in the body of the email. In the Android version the recipient will see the report and photos as attachments to the email that can be opened. With either iPhone or Android HTML report the recipient can copy the HTWL report and past it into a word or text document if they chose to, or simply save the HTML report. The photos can be saved or printed by the recipient through the photo viewing software on their computer.
